Baikonur is a parthenocarpic variety (sets fruit without pollination). However, the presence of bees and butterflies improves fruit quality and increases yield. Plant nearby flowers (dill, fennel, savory) to attract insects.
In hot weather - daily; in cool weather - every other day. Use 20-30 L/m² per week. Water at the roots in early morning hours, avoiding leaf wetting. Soil should be moist to a depth of 15-20 cm.
Active fruiting lasts 6-8 weeks with regular harvesting. Regular fruit removal every 2-3 days stimulates new fruit set. By late August, production typically declines due to lower temperatures and changing day length.
