Plant tubers in open ground in late April to early June, after the risk of late frost has passed. Optimal soil temperature is 15-18°C. In southern CIS regions you can plant in April, in the middle zone in May, in the north in early June.
In March-April, place tubers in moist soil or peat at 18-20°C. When shoots with 2-3 leaves appear (at 2-3 weeks old), seedlings can be transplanted into pots for further growing until planting in the ground.
Choose a sunny spot with at least 6-8 hours of direct sun daily. Soil should be fertile, well-drained, with pH 6.0-7.0. Avoid wet and shaded places, as they promote disease development.
