How to care
Plant in open ground or container after frost ends, when soil warms to 15°C. The planting hole should be 1.5 times larger than the root ball.
Keep the soil moist, but not waterlogged. Water as the top layer of soil dries out.
- •Prepare the hole with drainage and add manure or compost
- •Do not bury the root collar — it should be at soil level
- •After planting, water abundantly and mulch with manure for 5-7 cm

Frequently asked questions(5)
Plant hibiscus in open ground in April-May, after frost ends. Choose a sunny location protected from wind. Prepare a hole 40×40×40 cm with drainage. The root collar should be at soil level. Water abundantly and mulch.
Hibiscus requires full sun — at least 6 hours of direct light daily. In shaded areas, the plant flowers poorly and becomes leggy. In areas with very hot summers, light afternoon shade is acceptable.
During the growing season (May-September), water 2-4 times a week, depending on weather and soil type. Soil should be moist to a depth of 5-7 cm but not waterlogged. Daily watering may be needed in hot weather. Reduce watering in fall and winter.
During the growing season, fertilize every 2 weeks with a general-purpose fertilizer. During flowering, switch to weekly feeding with fertilizers high in phosphorus and potassium. Reduce feeding in fall and stop in winter.
Hibiscus is heat-loving and requires winter protection in temperate zones. In late September, shorten shoots by 1/2 and remove all leaves. After the first frost, cover the bush with burlap or non-woven fabric, adding a layer of leaves or peat around the base (10-15 cm). Uncover after the last spring frost.
