One of the best pear varieties for temperate regions. A medium-sized tree with pyramidal crown, bearing fruit annually. Yellow-brown fruits are sweet, with juicy flesh, good storage quality, and universal use.

Plant in fall (October-November) or spring (March-April). Fall planting is preferable as the seedling has time to root before winter and grows better the following summer.
First harvest can be obtained 3-4 years after planting. The tree reaches full bearing capacity at 8-10 years of age.
This variety is partially self-fertile, but for good yields, it's desirable to have pollinator varieties nearby: Conference, Williams, Apricot, or other pears blooming at the same time.
Water 1-2 times per week in summer, depending on weather. In dry periods, watering every other day may be needed. Young trees need more frequent watering than mature ones.
In late September-October, whitewash the trunk and skeletal branches with lime and clay mixture. Wrap young trees with spruce branches for protection from rabbits. Perform pre-winter deep watering.
Main enemies: scab, codling moth, psylla, leaf beetle, pear mite. Prevention: spring treatments with copper sulfate, summer fungicides when disease signs appear, fall leaf cleanup.
