Plant ranunculus corms in autumn (September-November) in central Russia and Ukraine, or in spring (March-April) in regions with cold winters. Soil should be warmed to 10-15°C. For flowers by summer, autumn planting is recommended.
Soak corms in warm water (20-25°C) for 2-3 hours before planting. This awakens them from dormancy and improves germination. Check planting material for rot or damage — use only healthy corms.
Plant corms at a depth of 3-5 cm with the pointed end down. Space between planting locations — 10-15 cm. Use well-draining soil with added sand or perlite to prevent water pooling.
Water regularly, keeping soil moist but not waterlogged. After rooting, water as the top layer dries. During blooming, more frequent watering is needed. Stop watering after leaves turn yellow.
After blooming and yellowing of foliage, carefully lift corms and dry them in a dark, well-ventilated place for 2-3 weeks. Store in a paper envelope or box in a cool place (15-20°C) with low humidity until next autumn.
