Frequently asked questions(5)
The optimal time is early spring (April) or fall (October). Spring planting is preferable in cold climates as it gives the plant time to root before winter. Fall planting works well in warm regions with mild winters.
During the growing season, roses are watered 2-3 times a week, deeply soaking the soil to 20-25 cm. In hot weather, watering may be daily. Water only at the root, avoiding wetting the leaves, especially in the evening, to prevent fungal diseases.
During active growth, use complex fertilizers with nitrogen content. Before flowering, switch to phosphorus and potassium fertilizers. Feed every 2-3 weeks with organic fertilizers (compost, manure) and mineral fertilizers (special rose formulations).
Prevention includes: planting in well-lit locations with good air circulation, watering only at the root, removing lower leaves, removing affected leaves and shoots. When diseases appear, use fungicides according to instructions. Prune bushes annually to improve ventilation.
In the temperate zone of CIS, roses need winter protection. In late October, mound the bushes to a height of 20-30 cm, add a mulch layer, and cover with spunbond or evergreen branches. Climbing roses should be secured horizontally and covered completely. Gradually remove protection in April with stable warming.
