The optimal planting time is spring (April-May) or autumn (September-October). Spring planting is preferable in regions with cold winters, as the rose will establish better before winter.
Rose des Cisterciens requires full sun — at least 6 hours of direct sunlight per day. With insufficient light, flowering will be less abundant, and the risk of fungal diseases increases.
During active growth, water 2-3 times a week; daily in hot weather. Water at the base of the bush, avoiding foliage. The soil should be moist but not waterlogged.
In spring, use nitrogen fertilizers for leaf growth. From mid-May, switch to phosphorus-potassium fertilizers for abundant blooming. Fertilize every 2-3 weeks.
In October, perform fall pruning, removing thin and diseased shoots. Mulch the bush with compost or peat (10-15 cm). In severe frost, tie shoots and cover with spruce branches or special protective material.
Main problems are powdery mildew, black spot, and spider mites. For prevention, ensure good air circulation and avoid excessive leaf wetting. When symptoms appear, use fungicides and insecticides.
