    Frequently asked questions(5)

Plant seedlings into open ground in late April — early June when frost danger passes. Sow seeds for seedlings in March. In short-summer regions, late spring sowing is also possible for fall harvest.

Water 1-2 times a week, keeping soil moist at 20 cm depth. During hot weather and head formation, water needs increase. Avoid wetting leaves during daytime.

After planting, fertilize with complete fertilizer after 2 weeks. During head formation, apply potassium fertilizers and organic matter (diluted manure solution 1:10). Total 3-4 feedings per season.

Main enemies are cabbage flea beetle, cabbage white butterfly, and cabbage fly. Protect young plants with row covers, conduct preventive sprays with wormwood infusions or insecticides if necessary.

Harvest heads from August through October-November (depending on region and planting dates) when they become dense and firm. Harvest before first frost can be done selectively or completely at season's end.
