    Frequently asked questions(5)

Optimally in spring (April–May) or early fall (September). This gives the plant time to root before an unfavorable season arrives. In mild winter regions, fall planting is also acceptable.

Heuchera prefers partial shade and shade. In full sun, leaves can burn and lose the brightness of their coloration. In southern regions, shade is especially desirable during summer hours. However, with good watering, it can tolerate light partial shade.

Soil should always be slightly moist, but not waterlogged. On average, water 1–2 times per week, more often in heat. In full shade under trees, water needs are lower. Good drainage is critical — heuchera does not tolerate water stagnation.

In spring, apply comprehensive fertilizer for foliage plants (NPK 10:10:10). In summer during flowering, use fertilizer with increased phosphorus and potassium content (e.g., 10:20:20). Fall fertilization is not required.

Do not cut the leaf rosette completely — it protects the plant's center and overwinters under snow. Simply remove severely damaged leaves. In spring, wait for new foliage to grow fully, then remove the old.
